Sunset Beach Prints

"Sunset Beach" is actually a combination of three memories and places, the ocean beaches of Rye, New Hampshire and Ogunquit, Maine and the calm lake beach of Lake Hayward, Connecticut. All three places hold really strong and wonderful meanings for our family. We take an annual trip up to Rye, Portsmouth, and Ogunquit every summer - but we spend most weekends at Lake Hayward in Connecticut. The sunsets can be breathtaking - and I like the idea that as I get older, I don't remember exactly where I was when I was stopped in my tracks, just that I was usually with my wonderful husband and our three sons. And that is enough.

Made for a commission for their love of adventure and interest in the natural world around them, this is "Sunset Beach." The original was watercolor on cotton and is part of a 4-part collection including "Luna Moth," "Forest Fog," and "Tree Circle."
